Better Business Bureau is warning northern Nevada homeowners to an official looking mailing sent by Property Tax Review Board. The “Property Tax Reduction Form” claims recipients can save money on their property taxes for a fee of $189.

“These official looking notices are getting the attention of local homeowners,” said Tim Johnston, BBB president. "However, there is no need to pay a fee to a third party for assistance."

Nevada property owners can contact their local county assessor with any questions about the calculation of their property taxes. Assistance from the county assessor is free.

The Nevada Attorney General reports that Property Tax Review Board operates in Arizona, Nevada and California and is headquartered in California.
